Memories of Gracy have filled my mind lately. We had (my husband Michael and our 4 children) to Madras in late 1993. We lived the most of the first year in a flat in West Extension. But somewhere that next fall we found the newly built home next to Gracy and Cheriyan. We weren’t there long when sweet Gracy showed up at our door introducing herself. One of her first questions was “do you know of a good Bible study?” Maybe somehow she knew we were with BSF ( Bible study Fellowship?). So that is how Gracy got involved with BSF and soon became a DL (discussion leaders they were called then!) At the time we first met she shared how she had spent many years taking care of mother in law and she had passed fairly frequently. She now was able to do some things for herself. Our 4 children were fairly young. Our youngest (dara) was 4, Deborah must of been 7, David must of been 11, and Daniella a young teenager. David guarded Gracy’s mango tree!😂. We lived there about 4 years and Sunday’s we would all squeeze into our Trax and drive to the Kirk for church. Gracy and I even taught VBS there one summer. When we moved, we introduced our friends Gieslans as the new tenants to Joseph’s. We loved being neighbors to Gracy and her husband Cheriyan. There are probably many more memories that will flood my brain in days to come. Srinivasan is just one of them. She faithfully was his tutor among many things for him. But that is a whole other story. May God direct and guide and comfort Cheriyan and family in these days. Beth for all the Kegler-Grays. (Well, there is only officially only one other, husband Michael Kegler-Gray now adays. ). Daniella is a Manea, David only Kegler, Deborah a Bittner, Dara a Baker!)
We will always remember Gracy aunty for her smile, her warm cordiality and care. May her sweet Soul rest in peace. Vnoj & family. Saligramam, Poothicote, Palampallam.
