Houston- Grace Hwa Huang, 75, died Tuesday morning, February 26, 2019 at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston while receiving treatment for her illness from gastric cancer.

She was widowed (husband: Yin-Hwa Richard Huang) and leaves her son of 39 years, Henry Huang and his wife Alice Huang; two grandchildren, and many close friends and churchgoers.

Born in the Shandong province of China, she and her family moved to Taiwan during World War II where she completed grade school, high school, and a bachelor's degree at a prestigious university in Taiwan. She moved to the United States at the age of 20 and complete a master's degree in accounting at SUNY Binghamton in New York. She then moved to Boston where she worked for John Hancock Company and met her husband Yin-Hwa R. Huang at a local church.

Grace moved with her husband to Corpus Christi Texas in 1976. There she worked for over 30 years as an accountant at what is now known as Texas A&M University Corpus Christi where she was heavily active in many University causes and championed a feral cat program which was recently recognized as an official, funded campus organization at the University.

Grace was fond of the collectible and antiquity hobbies where she maintained a presence at several storefronts in the downtown area of Corpus Christi. She later formed a company called Grace's Original and sold handmade jewelry and artwork which were displayed in such places as the TreeHouse Art Collective Museum in Corpus Christi.

Finally, Grace was a devout member of the Catholic Church and served as a Eucharist minister at Most Precious Blood Church in Corpus Christi, TX for over 15 years. She was generous to the less fortunate and an active member of the church.

She will be forever missed by her family, friends, and church members.

A funeral service will held March 9th 2019 at 10:00 AM from Winford Funerals of Houston, TX with private burial. A viewing will be held the evening before on March 8th 2019 at 6:00 PM.
