Grace's obituary
Grace was born on September 20th 1956 to Christian and Blanche (Arlie) Axelsen and was raised in Metuchen and spent her summers down the shore in Sea Bright. In October of 1979 she married her best friend and love Mark Elberger. They lived in Piscataway before returning to Metuchen to raise their children Jacqueline and Jacob in the town they both grew up in and loved.
Grace enjoyed family trips to Atlantic City, reading, couponing and gardening. She was retired from JFK Medical Center where she worked for 33 years. Although she had many health challenges over the years she always fought with grace and perseverance.
Grace loved her family and friends very much. She was predeceased by her sister Ingrid, her father Christian Axelsen and her mother Blanche (Therkelsen) Axelsen. She is survived by her Husband Mark, son Jacob, daughter Jackie & son-in-law John, her brother Chris & sister-in-law Cindy, goddaughter Sandi as well as brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date for family and friends.
