Gordon "Skip" Rowland departed from this world on September 13, 2025. Born on May 5, 1950, Gordon, also affectionately known as Skip to his beloved Idaho friends, led a memorable life marked by gregariousness, spontaneity, and an irrepressible energy that magnetized everyone around him. His welcoming aura made people feel seen, and his profound spirituality lent a deeper purpose to all his personal connections. Wherever Gordon went, he brought along an infectious joy and unwavering faith.

With a life so full of wisdom, Gordon's lessons were nothing short of inspiring. As a single father during a time when it was less common, he embodied his own teachings by raising his two children, Benjamin Rowland (43) and Amanda Carson (44), with unflinching dedication, a sense of humor, and boundless creativity. He was also bestowed the honorary title of "Dad" from his son-in-law, Christopher Carson (44). For Gordon, every moment was an opportunity for a new adventure!

Even though Gordon was well known for his long-standing career as a guitar teacher, nurturing numerous students along their musical journey, he always stated that his greatest accomplishment was raising his two children with love and care. Beyond his family, he had the incredible talent of fostering enduring relationships.

Gordon's legacy persists in the strokes of his guitar, in every life he touched through music, in the hearty laughter and wisdom he shared with his friends, and most notably, in the relentless love he showered on his children. His life serves as a poignant reminder that joy, connection, and spiritual grounding are more meaningful than any title or accolade could ever be. Those fortunate enough to have known Gordon carry forward not just his cherished memories, but also a piece of his radiant light.
