Please consider a contribution to Wounded Warrior Project.

Background

Gordon proudly served both in the United States Marine Corps as well as the United States Army. In total, he served 38 years, not only having fulfilled his enlistment requirements in both branches, but staying active in the Armed Forces long enough to ensure complete benefits for myself(his wife) as a part of his life for over 40 years. As an Army Special Forces Combat Medic, he saw his fair share of the wounds that occurred in combat, and provided frontline treatment to those wounded soldiers to the best of his ability. The effects of what his job entailed did eventually take its toll on him, and he did have to deal with those issues, both psychological and medical as time went on. This is why we both felt so strongly about the mission that Wounded Warrior Project lives by. He always told me, “ I’m not a hero, I was just doing my job”, but he will always be my hero! I think this is the best way to honor him. Contribute to Wounded Warrior Project  Right arrow
