Gordon's obituary

Gordon Eugene Blankenship, 68 was born in Kansas City, KS to Gordie and Elizabeth Blankenship, passed at his home on January 26, 2023. 

Gordon served in the US Navy aboard the USS Sumter, receiving the National Defense Service Medal during Vietnam. He married Rose Ann Mey and had two children, Jeff Blankenship and Lori Beth Lentz-Theis (Blankinship). 

Gordon loved model trains and tinkering with computers. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Sandra Blankenship, his brothers David and Gary Blankenship. 

Gordon is survived by his children, his grandchildren Damian and Piper Lentz, Colton Blankenship, Emilia Thomas and Carina Walker. His brothers Ronald and Robert Blankenship, Tommy Taylor, sisters Betty Trickett and Karen Taylor. He had numerous nieces and nephews.

A private burial of his remains with military honors will be held at a future date to be determined.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made on his behalf to the Wounded Warrior Project.
