Gloria's obituary

Our hearts are broken with the death of Mrs. Gloria Wong (mom) who left us peacefully on August 25, 2025.  Mom was born on April 7, 1930 in British Guyana, South America.    She lived in British Guyana through her high school years.  After finishing high school she moved to London, England to attend a London school of music.

It was in London that mom caught dad's attention at a church they attended together.  Dad was in the U.S. Airforce stationed in London.  Through a whirlwind romance they were soon married.  See the photo of them on a tennis date... what a cute couple!

Through the ups and downs experienced in all marriages they continued to love each other.  Their marriage thrived because of their love for GOD, and being gracious, forgiving, patient and kind with each another.

This year would have been their 73RD WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!

Dad misses mom very much and to a certain degree his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren help fill that gap in his life now.

Mom's sense of humor,  her onolicious food,  beautiful piano playing; and her thoughtfulness and  loving kindness, touched the lives of many.   Many of her and dad's friends and our family miss her very much.

Mom is survived by her loving husband, William Gee Kong Wong, daughters Joy Kinzie, Sara Tompkison, Ruth Wong, and sons Jonathan, Mark and David Wong.  She also is survived by her younger brother Terrence Paul.

In addition to her children,  mom has nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

We ask for your continual love and prayers during this challenging time.

We want her friends to celebrate her 95 years of life with us at a special Celebration of Life Memorial Service to be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on December 6, 2025. Aloha  and casual attire.

The Visitation will begin at 9 am and the Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin promptly at 10 am.

We are grateful for the compassionate care provided by the Saint Francis Hospice Team - Dr. Baron Wong, Herbert Nakahashi,RN  and Kamaile DeMello, MSW.

We also thank Leila's Care Home for her kindness and care she gave to mom.
