Gloria's obituary

Gloria Fern Rose was born in Russellville, Arkansas, on July 29, 1945, to Thelma Mae Walter and Beau Robert Clare. She passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, in Goodyear, Arizona, at the age of 80 — just two days after the passing of her beloved husband, Bob. Those who knew her best believe she died of a broken heart, unable to be apart from the love of her life and best friend.

Gloria was known for her strength, her open door, and her love of family. She was happiest when her home was full of laughter, conversation, and the joyful chaos of kids and grandkids. Thursday nights were sacred — family gathered to watch Friends or ER, always ending with a Braum’s ice cream run.

A natural leader with a fiery spirit, Gloria coached Pop Warner cheerleading, encouraged everyone around her, and made sure those she loved never doubted it. She found peace in her garden, joy in nurturing her plants, and comfort in life’s small luxuries — a favorite Bath & Body Works scent, a cozy pair of socks, and the warmth of home. To those who loved her, she was strong, vocal, and unwavering — the rock of the family, a pistol with a heart of gold.

On March 18, 1976, she married Robert M. Rose, Jr. in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life defined by devotion, laughter, and partnership. After nearly five decades side by side, Gloria followed Bob just two days later — a beautiful reflection of their lifelong bond.

Gloria is survived by her sisters, Rebecca Linker and Shelby Henderson, and by her children — Lori Ann, Stephanie Kay, and Kevin Allen. She was preceded in death by her siblings Wanda Sorrels, Loretta Thompson, Sharon Johnson, and Bob Clare.

She leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren — Ash, Tracy, Bobbie, Tyler, Courtney, Stephen, Angel, Savannah, Sofia, and Bowie — and her great-grandchildren — Liam, Beckham, Corbin, Aiden, Addie, Ava, Ashlyn, Jackson, and Colton — who lovingly called her “Nana.” Her love lives on in every gathering, every laugh, and every moment shared among those she held dear.
