Though most of those viewing this site will not know me, I was a close friend of the family for many years and feel they played a part in the person I am today. Gloria was my guardian angel during my high school and college years. once when I did not have the funds to pay my bail, she told me she would pay it and to be more careful with my driving. Of course, some years later I repaid her, but I look back now and think spending a night in jail would not have appeared favorably on my job applications. And those wonderful meals---Gloria introduced me to Spanish cuisine. Unfortunately, my Spanish has not improved. I loved being a part of the Pages family, even for a brief while. Gloria, I am sure has a special place in Heaven. She will be missed.

I loved all my aunts but I was probably closest to Aunt Gloria and Aunt Luga because I spent so much time at their homes when I was growing up. I loved going to Aunt Gloria's house, mostly because I had adventures with my older cousin Ronnie, Gloria's son. In addition, Gloria and her husband Peter made me feel at home there, like I was one of their kids. If I got out of line they would straighten me out but not harshly. And Gloria's cooking was to die for. I especially remember her spaghetti with pork chops. But when I think of Gloria what I will most remember is what a sweet person she was. The last time I saw her at the rest home, she was just the same. She remembered me and made me laugh when she said, "Mike, when you were young, you were SOOO BAD." She called all the workers at the facility "my darlin'." She was the same sweet, kind person I had known for 70 years. I will always miss her.

I am lucky to have been chosen by Peter Pages to be a caregiver/friend to both Gloria Pages and Louis Castro. I have so many fond memories with both of them and a few items that I hold dear so that I will always remember our time spent together. I have some kitchen items of Gloria's that remind me of our mornings having coffee and a framed puzzle in my livingroom that Louis and I did together. They both influenced my life greatly with their stories and advice. I was embraced like family and now enjoy ONLY Cafe Bustelo for my morning coffee and reading the newspaper thanks to Gloria, I can make a mean Flan thanks to Peter, and know all about the hidden gem Arco Iris thanks to Louis. There is so much more, I could write about how special this family really was to me, but I would have nothing short of a novel. ❤️ My deepest condolences to friends and family for your loss and a loving reminder that our lives are forever better because we had the pleasure of knowing them.
