Gloria's obituary
An amazing wife and mother, she never missed her children's activities, a soccer team mom for years, as well as an avid cheerleader at track and cross-country meets. She was a patient nurse when her children were ill, a self-taught amazing cook and was as supportive as a wife and mother could be. She proved to be the same for her grandchildren, attending their myriad of activities regardless of how difficult it came to be.
While raising her family, she showed herself to not only be a kind, caring and compassionate woman but also a true educator. Her children were witness to her countless hours of volunteer work, teaching refugee children from Vietnam how to speak English. She worked 20 years for the San Gabriel Unified School District. During this time, she also attended Pasadena City College where she studied both Accounting and Early Childhood Education.
At the age of 57, she began the battle for her life when her body began to betray her. She fought bravely for 29 -1/2 years, and never once in that time did she stop supporting, comforting and loving all of those around her. She touched so many lives with her wisdom, patience, encouragement, kindness and her beautiful smile.
She leaves behind her husband of 68 years, Marco, Sr.; her five children, Gloria Edith, Arleen, Debbie, Mimi and Marco, Jr.; her eight grandchildren, Ryan, Alyssa, Daniel, Kirsten, Sara, Brianna, Matthew and Jakob; her great-grandson, Ronin; her beloved sons-in-law, Larry and Raul and so many other family members.
