Gloria's obituary

Gloria Jean(Van Veen) Craft, 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2019 in Ogden, Utah.

Gloria was born in Newton, IA on January 9, 1944 to the late Garrit VanVeen and Marjorie(Schultze) VanVeen. She spent most of her childhood in Newton, but also spent time with her Grandmother and Aunt Jenny on their farm in Pella where she had her best memories. She and her cousins would build tree houses, play school and chase chickens around the farm.

Gloria graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1962 and worked as a candy striper at Skiff Memorial Hospital until she left for Germany to marry Roger Nall who was serving in the Army. They were married in December, 1963. They moved back to the US and started a family with a son and soon a daughter.

Gloria was a full time mom of her two children. She loved being a mom, attending church, having coffee with friends, going to the State Fair, Gone with the Wind, antiques, dolls, popcorn, the Wild West and turquoise jewelry. She loved to laugh and make others laugh as well.

She later married Ivan Craft in 1986. They lived in Newton until 1992 when he passed. Gloria spent the next 20+ years living in various states: Missouri, Arkansas, Arizona and finally Utah.

Gloria is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Jill Nall of South Weber, Utah and their 2 children, Mitch and Megan; her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy(Nall) Fahey and Mike Fahey and their 3 children, Alice, Rich and Jack; her 2 brothers, Gary VanVeen of Newton and Kevin VanVeen of Ankeny; many nieces and nephews and former spouse, Roger Nall of Peoria, AZ.

She is predeceased by her husband Ivan Craft, her sister Linda(VanVeen) Trotter.

She will be interred in a private graveside ceremony at a later date in Newton Union Cemetery. We encourage everyone to share their favorite memories of Gloria on everloved.com. In lieu of flowers we are asking people to donate to their local humane society.
