Gloria's obituary
Born in Chicago on April 23, 1927, she graduated from Colorado College as Summa Cum Laude. She married Nicholas H. Borota and called North Miami, Florida her home until the early 1990’s. During that time, she was an elementary school teacher in Miami-Dade county, earning her master’s degree from Barry College. Retiring early, she was able to volunteer at the local hospital and travel the world with our father, until his passing in 1991. She relocated to Boca Raton, Florida, making lots of new friends, which allowed her to enjoy a very active social life. She was an enthusiastic participant in her bridge club, with a close circle of friends that met for dinners, movies and plays. Our mother considered herself a “political junkie” and was a lifelong student, attending courses and seminars at the local college. She traveled the world extensively in the company of good friends, always excited to learn new cultures and meet new people. As an animal lover, she supported many different charities throughout the years, and was deeply devoted to her “rescued” Persian cats, Cami and Suri. An avid reader who was always up to date on current events, her energy level was amazing, and she was a fun-loving force to be reckoned with.
Gloria Linne Borota was a wonderful mother and friend, who was loved and respected by many. We miss her dearly and we will keep her in our hearts forever.
