my love and condolences to the family. my mom, Ana Vilma, met Mama Gloria, both of Salvadoran roots, in the mid 70s. they would hang out a lot early on in the streets of San Francisco. Guy Jr and i would connect as children, from time to time, but we, ultimately, went our own ways.

we reconnected many years later inside City College of San Francisco, Second Chance Program. shortly afterwards, he was taken from us. that’s when i began to call her Mama Gloria. she was one of a kind. she kept it 100, as they say.  i am gonna miss her. my love and regards to Guy Sr, Emmanuel, and the family.

  • My condolences to Gloria's family, she was an amazing woman and friend….  I first met Gloria when we were in treatments together at Chipsa hospital in Mexico. She was so sweet and motherly, always looking out for several of us. She was there  before me so she would explain what was happening to us, at first I was afraid but she helped me feel better and more relaxed. We became fast friends and it really helped  to have each other.  After 3 weeks together we went home and stayed in touch, we talked and shared food ideas and kept each other up on our progress, we both did good for a while. After 3 months we meet again for our check in back at Chipsa hospital for a week. We flew in to San Diego, the driver picked us up at the airport and took us to our hotel in TJ Mexico for a week. We walked all over TJ early in the morning's then we would eat breakfast at an organic restaurant. After breakfast we would go to our treatments. I loved spending this time with Gloria, we got very close she felt like a sister to me. I loved her very much and I will never forget her.
