Brenda and I were so surprised to learn about Glenn. We have lived in San Diego since 2016, so It wasn't until we read Stanford Settlement's recent newsletter that we learned of his passing.  We have fond memories of Glenn from when we lived in Sacramento and always appreciated him keeping our windows sparkling clean!  We were impressed with his dedication to starting the new music school. We found Glenn to be so warm and outgoing.  We are very sorry for his loss.  He will be missed
My sincerest condolences to Janice and Jessica on the loss of Glenn. I had the great honor to play bass for Glenn in his band the RoadRunners. Glenn recruited me at Skips music in the late 90s. He presented a business plan to me for a "one hit wonder" cover band. I immediately knew this was a very special man! I worked in music with Glenn for many years and can say that he was the most honorable man I ever had the pleasure to call a friend. He and I shared the joy of music in profound ways. I miss him.
Glenn and Janice and Jessica were friends of my family, George, Laurie and Jackie Cootz, since 1986. Jess and Jackie were buddies for several years and we all got together on many occasions. My husband died suddenly in 1998 and who did I call to help? The Tietjens. And they all three came to the hospital in the middle of the night and were there the next day and throughout the services. Glenn promised my husband he would take care of us and that he did.
We have continually been in their lives ever since. My husband and I worked with him and Janice part-time back in the window cleaning days. He was a good manager, always making sure everyone was taken care of and selecting clients who were appreciative of his services. He definitely had a knack for running businesses. Glenn the musician I met later in his Roadrunner group days. It was after my husband died. I love to dance and don't mind doing it by myself so knowing the band, it was easy to attend their gigs and help them get the dance floor warmed up--fit both of our needs. He has given me lots of advice, some of which I have even taken. '-) I am so glad he was born and that he and his family came into my family's life. We have never been the same since. Bless you wherever you are my friend. You are a good man and I have lots of things to remind me of you daily so you will not be forgotten. Lots of love to you all
've know Glenn since the day I moved in to my house in 2008. I was alone (my partner didn't move to Sacramento for a few more weeks) and feeling a little sad and weird. Glenn was like the Dad of our Sacramento street - and having a figure like that live next door helped during a transition. Glenn was gregarious and unfiltered and kind and funny - the best you could hope for in a neighbor. He was a solid presence in Natomas and I admired his entrepreneurship and commitment to the community. My heart goes out to Janice and Jessica.

My wife Judith and I just found out about Glenn's passing the same way as Carl Olsen, by reading about it in today's Natomas magazine. So sad! Just devastating. We've known Glenn for several years now, as our kids have been students at NSM. He was always so positive and happy to talk about music at the drop of a hat. He nurtured so many children's love of music. He never seemed happier than at one of the school's performance showcases. Our deepest condolences. We will miss him greatly.
Just read a "bits and pieces" article in the Natomas Magazine and before I read the article with Glenn's photo I wanted to reach out and call. I almost fell off of the chair when I read further the sentence "he will be missed"... so sorry for the family, Glenn kept Riverpoint Realty sparkling at the Park Plaza for many many years. He always timed lunch or breaks and we "visited" at length everytime. He was dearly loved by me and was always fun to run into when I saw his Natomas School of Music van for updates on the students and community that he so loved. Glenn....you will be missed.
I met Glenn when he was 18 and played with a band called The Summer Knights. They were a good band and played at the bar I hung out in with my friends. The Summer Knights became the house band at The Picture Lounge, and some of my friends were also friends with the guys in the band. We all hung out together, and since Glenn starting dating one of my friends, we became friends. After they broke up Glenn and I became closer friends. Neither of us were part of a couple, so we'd go out for drinks or just to ride around and get out of the house. Sitting on the sand dunes overlooking Hempstead Harbor drinking beer. Hanging out at the duck pond in Roslyn. When Glenn started doing gigs as a single in local bars, I'd go along and listen to him play. We had a nice friendship. He was a really good guy. When he decided to go to California, he came out to Mineola to say goodbye, and we split a bottle of Southern Comfort. Something I wouldn't repeat. And we said we'd keep in touch, which we did. I hadn't seen Glenn after he left for CA, but we wrote letters, back when that was all we had, and called occasionally. I will miss my good friend.
We are very sad to learn of Glenn's passing, but are grateful to have known him as our friend and neighbor.

My wife and son began taking guitar lessons from Glenn way back when he rented a small room in a South Natomas real estate office. Later, when my wife stopped her lessons, I stepped into her time slot. Glenn was such a gentle sole and a great listener, I kept taking lessons from him year after year, just because I liked our chats. My lack of practicing kept me from ever getting competent at the guitar, but I kept paying and kept going simply because I liked chatting with him. Glenn was sort of a quasi-counselor and I figure I would have payed a lot more to an actual psychologist. Glenn buddy -you dreamed big and went after and fulfilled your dreams... bravo! I was heartbroken to hear of your passing.... gone way way to soon. Thoughts are with Janice and the rest of the family.
Words can’t express the sadness of hearing of glens passing. Glen was the best music teacher ever my daughter took guitar lessons with him from the age of 6 onward , he supported her Girl Scout cookie drive and taught her so much with his passion of music. He will be deeply missed with in the community and our hearts . Sending love ❤️ prayers to his family and siblings and his music company as well . Rest In Peace. Love shery Jenna Gutzeit
I will remember Glenn as a gentle man who is dedicated to bringing music and music education to his community. Rest in peace my friend.
Glenn was my guitar instructor and friend. I will miss him very much. I'm thankful for all he taught me on the guitar and about music.
