Glenn's obituary

Glenn Von Scotton, 65, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026. Glenn was born on August 10, 1960, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to George and Shirley (Scott) Scotton.

Glenn was a graduate of Vatterott College, where he earned a degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD). He had a creative and curious mind and enjoyed a lifelong interest in science fiction—especially Star Trek. Those who knew Glenn remember his goofy personality, his easy laughter, and the deep love he had for his family.

In 1981, Glenn married Emma Andrus, and from that union his beloved son, John Glenn, was born. He later married Ida Mae Edwards in 2000. Though both marriages ended in divorce, Glenn remained devoted to his son and proud of his growing family.

He is survived by his son, John (Sharon) of Lincoln, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Bethany Herpel of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Gianandria (Trew) Jackson of Lakeland, Florida; his nephew Jason (Ashley) Smith of Enid, Oklahoma; and his nieces Penny Smith and Julia Smith of Rushville, Missouri.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, George and Shirley Scotton, and his sister, Corby Smith.

No public services are planned at this time. Glenn will be remembered for his humor, his kind heart, and the joy he found in the people he loved most.
