Glenn's obituary

It breaks our heart to announce the passing of Glenn Alan Esau of Mississauga. Glenn passed away at the age of 68 in hospital on April 30, 2024.

Born in Vancouver, B.C., he spent the first few years of his life in California before moving back to Toronto and eventually settling in Mississauga.

A man of the road, Glenn worked as a trucker until retirement and had a passion for cars; assembling a Datsun from the ground up, restoring an El Camino, and enjoying his Aston Martin in his later years.

When he wasn’t on the road or have his head under the hood of a car, he was busy in his wood shop creating the most beautiful pieces of woodwork imaginable- from highly elaborate large corner cabinets to more simple toy boxes for his granddaughters (and of course building wooden speakers, electrical components included).

Glenn spent the coldest time of winter in Mexico with his wife, Chris, soaking up the sun and partaking of the best cuisine Mexico has to offer. In the summer he enjoyed lounging poolside in his own piece of heaven in his backyard while his granddaughters swam in grandpa’s pool.

He also loved to read, he loved audiobooks, he loved stories and as such, he always had a story to tell, wisdom to bestow, and was always ready with a “dad joke”. Glenn could sit outside in the sun talking for hours about anything and everything.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Christine Geiger, daughter Amber and her partner Dan, son Sean and his partner Denise, son Alex and his wife Cassandra, stepdaughter Kimberley and her husband Nate, stepson Daniel and his partner Miles, stepson Scott, granddaughters Ava and Gwen, step-grandsons Marley, London, and Declan and step-granddaughter Hadley.

Per his request, a celebration of life will be held in the spring or summer so we may reminisce and remember the incredible impact on every person he met. He is already deeply missed and will forever be remembered in our hearts.

Love you dad.
