Glenn, I’m sorry you are gone. But I’m so glad that we run into each other that day in Forest Park at least you got to celebrate your last Thanksgiving among kind of good people.
I know life was tough on you especially in the later years and then now you would have wanted me to say something in your memory...
you were always a good regular to have in my bar. You made friends easily and spoke honestly. Thank you for sharing some of your time here with me. Cheers to your life! I hope wherever you are now you still get to cycle and maybe enjoy a beer. I’ll miss seeing you around.

2009, Monday Night Ride at the Soccer Park
After about 25 miles of hammering in a large group, there was a massive crash, with probably 25 riders going down, including Glen and me.
As I picked myself up off the tarmac I noticed Glen climbing up out of the ditch on the side of the road. He was covered in green algae and weeds, and I laughed out loud, and said, “you look like the Swamp Creature”.
Glenn said, “it’s not funny”
I said, “are you hurt?”
Glenn said, “no”.
I said,” then it’s funny as hell”.
Reluctantly he cracked a dry smile.

I can still see that reluctant smile today, and I’m sad I’ll never see it again.
