Glenda's obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Glenda Treadway, who stepped into eternity on April 2, 2024. Born on December 23, 1941, Glenda, affectionately known as Granny, brought warmth, humor, and the best home-cooked meals into the lives of everyone she knew.
Glenda is survived by her loving family, who were the joy of her life. Her memory will be cherished by her siblings Mary Gail and Junior, her daughters Pamala Hagadorn and Paula White, her sons William and Mike Treadway, her grandchildren Richard Treadway, Kayla Fields, Leah Treadway, Kyle Barrus, Kristian Barrus, Sean Watson, Ryan Treadway, Alicia Treadway, Samantha Ball, Abigail White, Beth Wright, Shannon Carson and all of her great grandchildren she loved dearly. Glenda was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Barrus.
An exceptional woman, Glenda loved life, and she loved to laugh. She was always the warm and funny presence in the room. Her passion for good food was contagious, and those who had a taste of her Fried Chicken knew it was the best around. It wasn't just the food she loved, but the appreciation of it, a lesson she shared with those around her.
Glenda's favorite drink was Diet Mtn. Dew, and she would often be found with a can in hand as she disappeared into a romance novel or got lost in her favorite movie, Sling Blade. When she wasn't reading or cooking up a storm, she was tending to her garden, another of her cherished recreational activities.
Glenda's legacy will continue to live on through her family, the stories they'll tell, and the meals they'll share. She taught them the value of good food, not just for sustenance, but as a way to bring people together, to create love and laughter around the dining table. Glenda is gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. Her spirit lives on in the recipes she handed down, the gardens she nurtured, and the love she shared generously with her family.
