Glen's obituary

Glen S. “Bucky” Copenhaver, a proud Army veteran and beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on November 10, 2025, in Marion, Ohio. He was 96 years old.

Born on March 6, 1929, in St. Mary’s, Ohio, Glen lived a long and full life marked by service to his country, devotion to his family, and a spirited sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew him. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, a chapter of his life that he carried with pride throughout the years.

Glen was known for his love of working on cars and spending time outdoors—often even when he probably shouldn’t have been. Whether it was tinkering under the hood or simply enjoying the fresh air, he found peace and purpose in these simple pleasures. His favorite spot may well have been the couch where he took countless naps while watching his favorite TV shows.

He had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often sneaking them candy bars with a wink and a grin. Glen had an infectious laugh and an endless supply of jokes that could light up any room. His warmth and humor left lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to spend time with him.

Glen was preceded in death by his loving wife Jean; his brothers William, Lee, and Joseph; and his parents Merrill and Margaret.

He is survived by his devoted children: Darla (Don), Leonard, David, Delores, Mark, Cheri, and Ben (Missy); as well as many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy of laughter and love.

A man who never missed an opportunity to bring a smile to someone’s face or lend a helping hand, Glen “Bucky” Copenhaver will be deeply missed for years to come. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Visitation will be held on November 17, 2025, from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Affordable Cremation and Funeral Services with Funeral Services to follow November 18, 2025 at 11 AM
