Gladys was a breath of "fresh air" to me with her upbeat, pleasant and gracious personality. As has been noted she had a great smile and her story, at least in this country, was pretty amazing, especially her efforts to learn English and gain citizenship, among others. In a sense, she seemed more like a graduating student her '20's, for example, ready to begin life, than a person very close to my own age. I sometimes say about a person over a certain age that, despite their age , they died too young. She was one of those persons.

Gladys moved to the USA in 2005 to be close to the grandchildren and children. Sofia Bergsveinsson and her husband Bjarki and three kids were blessed to have Gladys living with them in their house. Gladys took care of the grandkids and gave them lots of love. Sofia was very fortunate to have her mom at her home. Gladys was an extraordinary person who had lots of friends. She had some magical powers to make friends very easily. Everyone admired her beautiful smile, her resilience and the way Gladys saw life. The way that Gladys saw life was with a lot of optimism that nothing was impossible and that God is always with us.
Gladys was a warrior who fought Covid for one month and never gave up until God decided to take her to his kingdom as a beautiful angel with the lovely smile. Gladys has two children Raul and Sofia and her son-in-law Bjarki who she used to called Hijito and Bjarki used to call her mamita. Gladys has 5 grandkids : Gaby, Christopher , Christian, Camila, Alex.
Gladys will be terribly missed but will be forever in our memories and heart.
We will honor Gladys by donating to “Dios Proveera” this is an organization that help kids that don’t have food to eat and Covid has affected more kids.

Gladys got her US citizenship…
2019, Virginia, USA
Gladys got her US citizenship! The whole family was very happy of her accomplishment. She studied hard and she did excellent in her English exam.
