She was an extraordinary woman of strength, kindness, and generosity, and her vibrant spirit will forever live in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.

She is remembered with love by her devoted husband, Michael Hens, with whom she shared a cherished unity since their marriage in 1987. Gladys's loving nature extended to her two beautiful children, Samantha and Sean Hens, who brought immense joy into her life.

Her brothers, Albert (Anne) Hartman, Norman (Barbara) Hartman, Kevin (Kim) Hartman, Gary (Erin) Hartman and sister, Sandra (Carrie) Hartman mourn the loss of a caring and supportive sibling. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Hilda and Albert Hartman Sr. Her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and multitude of friends will deeply miss her radiant personality and her unwavering support.

Gladys was a proud alumni of Alden High School, Park Street, Alden, NY, where she graduated in 1978. She was a humble and faithful attendee of the Abundant Life Church, where she nurtured her spirituality, taught Sunday School, and sang in the Church Choir.

Gladys lived life to the fullest. She had a fondness for crime dramas, the thrill of solving word puzzles and Sudokus, and the joy of immersing herself in captivating books. Her hands were never idle as she enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Her enchanting voice often filled the air when she indulged in her love for singing.

Gladys was always friendly and helpful, a cornerstone of her personality that endeared her to all who met her. Her legacy is one of kindness and generosity. Not only did she live an exemplary life, but she also inspired others to be better and kinder. Her absence will be keenly felt, but her influence will continue to resonate through the lives of those she touched.
