Giovanni's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Giovanni "John" Solombrino on February 21, 2025. Born on August 8, 1963, Giovanni, who was also known as John, was a beloved father, grandfather, and ex-husband. Despite the different names, he preferred Giovanni.
Giovanni is survived by his ex-wife, Patricia Solombrino, their sons, Nicholas Giovanni Slaughter and Adam Domenico Solombrino, step-daughter, Erika Lynn Drum, grandsons, Leon Beck, Miles Slaughter, and Andrew Drum, and granddaughters, Lylianna Drum, Evelyn Drum, and Salem Munroe Solombrino. Each of them held a unique and special place in Giovanni's heart, and his loss will be deeply felt by all of them.
An ardent foodie, Giovanni's favorite indulgences were pizza and Mexican food, usually paired with a comforting cup of green tea. His love for music was epitomized in his admiration for Pink Floyd, and he found entertainment in television shows like Cops. A true artist at heart, Giovanni cherished the art of drawing.
Giovanni was an avid sports fan, with the Steelers being his favorite team, and he enjoyed playing football. He found solace in the great outdoors, with fishing and camping among his preferred recreational activities. His favorite physical activity was walking, often in a green surrounding, his favorite color.
Known for his wisdom, Giovanni often shared the lesson of treating others as one wishes to be treated. He lived by his legacy: to be the best one can be, a testament to his enduring spirit and strength of character. Even as we mourn his passing, we celebrate his life and the positive influence he had on those around him.
