Gina's obituary
On Friday, October 28, 2022 at 12:41 PM, Gina Lolo Adams went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, after a courageous battle against cancer. Born February 18, 1956 to Johnny and Ollie Williams, Gina is predeceased by her parents and younger brother Teddy Williams. She is survived by her son Christian T. Pine, her siblings Linda Owusu (Kwame Jr.), Randy Williams, Valenesia James (Napoleon), Shenette Williams, Joan Williams, Jantha Williams (Athena) and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Born in Hampton, South Carolina, Gina was an absolute ray of sunshine. Her light illuminated every room she walked into with her bright smile and sweet spirit leading the way. As a child, Gina was relocated to Brooklyn, New York, when her parents decided to “move North.” In 1974 Gina graduated from New Utrecht High School and went on to pursue her Associates degree, graduating from Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York.
Gina loved people; ministry was her service. She put this calling to use while working at Kingsboro Psychiatric Center, The Boys and Girls Club of America, and when she moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to be a Houseparent at Girard College. Gina was a wealth of knowledge, you could ask her anything about the family and she had all the answers, down to the date and sometimes the time. She was truly a walking encyclopedia.
Most notable in her life was Gina’s faith and trust in God’s word. She loved to pray and did so without ceasing. She loved to sing and even made a song of Psalm 18 that won’t soon be forgotten. Anyone who knew Gina knew how important her faith was to her. It was the pillar and rock on which she stood. Her love and trust in God, who she affectionately called “Daddy,” is what she relied on right until the moment He took her home. “A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.”
