Knowing Gil was to love him. He had a self proclaimed suicidal mouth, but it was attached to a heart of gold. If you knew Gil you knew about his love of food and his God-children. One in particular Shiloh. Gil was the closest thing my daughter had to a dad. She had his heart and he meant the world to her. May he find peace and happiness with Our Father in Heaven. Love you Big Buddy. You could never be replaced.
I met Gil when he submitted a copy of his syndicated Christian rock show Rock world to the Christian radio network of which I was the general manager, program director and one of the show hosts while also pastoring a church in St Louis. We became fast, long distance friends as well and he ended up hosting our weekday afternoon program for several years and working on other projects with me including over the year talk news programming for a second Network. After my father died, he visited me across country to help with the organizing. We stayed in touch long distance for years.

I am very saddened by Gilbert's loss. He will be missed by more than many may imagine.

When he told me that he had been admitted for covid-19, this was the outcome that I was afraid of but he has had a series of health issues over the years and at least he's now at peace. I am sorry that I have not met his brother and his other Pennsylvania family of choice and Friends. He's shared so many good things about you over the years.
Gibert and myself were in dialysis together for a number of years. Sometimes we were side by side, other times we were several chairs apart.Although he had many health isses, he always managed to say good morning to all as he came in and many times he had seveal jokes and quickly he could become quite serious if he heard something sad. He will be missed by the patient s and staff at US Renal Care. He was a man who cared for all. I would say "Well done my friend".
