Gilbert "Gil" McCartney SR, 57, of Kimball, WV, passed away on August 14, 2022 after a long  battle with cancer and a sudden onset of Covid.

Gil was born February 20th 1965, to his late parents Boyd Eugene McCartney and Wife Dorothy Irene McCartney. 

Gil devoted his life to a career of truck driving for over 30 years. He always pushed him self to provide for his family. He had two sisters Cathleen Stanley of Premier, WV and And left behind was Sister Teresa Ann Powell and Husband Jeffery of Princeton, WV . His loving wife, best friend, and care taker Laura Jean McCartney.  Gil also left behind Son Gilbert Roland McCartney Jr. (Rocky) and wife Joanna of Kimball, WV Daughter Shelia Michelle Pulliam and husband Timothy of Princeton, WV,  Son Christopher Shannon Clower of Bluefield, Daughter Alexis Brooke Tiller of Bluefield, WV And Special Son and Bestest Friend Christopher Shannon McCartney of the home. Little Chris was Poppas pride and joy. He leaves behind 9 grandchildren Laila “Poodle” McCartney, Connor “Buckaroo McCartney, Dustin Jackson, Nate Dickerson, Bradley Billings Jr. James Clower, Claiton Clower, Octavia Tiller, and Bexley Tiller. Special Friends Chris and Jennifer Hudson of Bluefield and many nieces and nephews.
