Gesner's obituary
Pastor Gesner Mezy, 65 of Punta Gorda, FL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 11/15/22. Pastor Mezy was a man of the people, he was a teacher and counselor to all who knew him. An orphan at the age of 5, he quickly learned that hard work was the way to reach success. He has held many positions in his life; from owning his own pawnshop in Haiti to having his own driving school in the states. A soldier who is never tired to be of service to others; a man with a great sense of humor, a lover of life and most importantly a man of God who loved preaching the gospel whenever, wherever he can. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, he never missed an opportunity to preach and he stayed strong and fight for life until the very end.
Pastor Mezy was preceded in death by his grandson Jeremiah E. Cherisma. He is survived by his wife, Martine P Mezy, his seven children: Irlene Jure and her husband Sony Jure, Jephtee Jn Louis and her husband Mackenley Jn Louis, Esther Mondesir and her husband Emmanuel Mondesir, Erica Desane and her husband Renes Desane, Jessica Mezy and her fiancé David Diamante , his one and only son Stanley Mezy and his wife Jessica B Mezy, Rebecca Miccy and her husband Jacenel Miccy. 15 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Pastor Mezy also had countless friends in the U.S and Haiti he was a well-loved member of the Haitian community here in Florida as well as in Brockton, MA.
He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.
