Gerard's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gerard Allen Westover, who left us on September 19, 2024. Born in January of 1958, he lived a life marked by a wonderful humor, a zest for outdoor activities, and a commendable passion for community service.
Gerard was predeceased by his beloved parents, Gerald and Nancy Westover, along with his brothers, Pete and Norman Westover. His spirit will continue to live on through his loving daughter, Brittany Westover, and his grandkids: Sophie, Payton Quinn, and Kairi, whom he loved dearly.
Besides his daughter and grandkids, Gerard also leaves behind an extended family that loved and respected him deeply. His sister-in-law, Joann Westover, nieces, Stephanie Westover, Nichole Miller, Kim Westover Wittman, Amy Westover Basso, and Laura Westover Hammond, and nephew, Robbie Westover, will cherish their time spent with him and will always remember his infectious humor.
Always full of life, Gerard was known to bring laughter into any room with his funny, silly jokes. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, and cheering for his favorite sports team, the Dallas Cowboys. He also had a fondness for Budweiser, which he often enjoyed after a day of outdoor adventures.
One of Gerard's most notable accomplishments was his service as a Volunteer Firefighter, a testament to his selflessness and commitment towards the wellbeing of his community. His legacy, however, will not only be his service but also his unique ability to weave magic into ordinary moments. His daughter Brittany will always cherish the unforgettable memories of their imaginative outings together.
Gerard's passing leaves a void in our hearts, but we find comfort in knowing that his laughter and warmth will continue to echo in our memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, including numerous extended family members. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the life of a man who truly knew how to live and love.
