Gerard “Jerry” D. Scotland, 79, of Albuquerque, NM passed away Monday September 1, 2025, in Eldridge, IA while visiting a friend. Jerry was on a three week-long road trip to attend his grand nephew’s wedding in Kentucky and visit former coworkers of Townsend Industries - a Des Moines-based company.

Born February 9, 1946, in New York, NY to David & Elisabeth (Lee) Scotland, Jerry was known for his huge personality and his endless “dad jokes”. He married Elizabeth “Liz” Bohac on April 25, 1981 - for “adult supervision” and she certainly had her hands full. The two moved to Albuquerque in the spring of 2011 after many years in Upstate New York.

Cremation will be done with a Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, Sept 27th at Sacandaga Lake - RSVP on the “events” tab. Memorials in his honor can be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation.

Jerry is survived by his son David Scotland, Seattle, WA.
