Dear Carole and family,

It doesn’t look like the  condolences I posted after Gerard’s memorial went through, so I’ll try again. Such a a beautiful celebration of life honoring Gerard! And it was wonderful to see you Carole, your family, and so many dear friends from Calvary Chapel, Long Beach. 

I have many special memories from those early days at Calvary Chapel, as we all do. Yet the most important and dearest thing  as a new believer back then was the teaching, wisdom, love and passion for the Lord pastor Gerard imparted to me in those days. It truly laid the foundation for my beginning walk with the Lord. I’m forever grateful for Gerard’s shepherding, not only to me, but to my dad as well in his final year of life. 

I can honestly say Gerard was one of the most genuine and caring souls I have known. What a beautiful gift God gave to you! May all those wonderful life experiences and precious memories comfort the ache in your hearts. And may God continue to bless you all with peace and comfort, strength and hope, promise and faithfulness in your days ahead.
