Geraldine (Gerry) Louise Lites Watkins was born June 14, 1924 in Many, Louisiana to Daniel Ray and Estelle Lites. She had one sister, DeLois Yeats of Bedford, Texas and two brothers, Charles Ray of McKinney, Texas and Milton Allan of Arlington, TX. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.

Geraldine graduated from Many High School in 1943, Louisiana College (Pineville, LA) in 1948, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas in 1951. She served as Baptist Student Director at Southeastern Louisiana University from 1951-1959.

Married George Lawrence Watkins April 7, 1961. 

She and her husband have served in churches throughout their married life, most recently working with International Students at University of Texas/Arlington.

For 27 years Geraldine (Gerry) worked as an award winning travel journalist, a freelance and editor of three travel magazines on the internet.

A memorial service  with live stream will be held at Cross City Church in Euless this Sunday August 10th at 2pm.
