Geri's obituary

Geraldine Glardon died on March 15, 2020, at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, with her 3 daughters at her side, from complications of a heart surgery. She was 66 years young.
When Geraldine Glardon was born on November 27, 1953, in Philippines, her father, Robert, was 33, and her mother, Dorothy, was 27.
Geri, as she preferred to be called, was born in the Philippines Islands, but grew up all over as her father was in the military causing them to move around a lot. Finally settling in Atwater, Ca when her father was stationed at Castle Air Force Base, that is where she resided and raised her children. Geri married Robert Lee Rodgers in Winton, California.
Geri has 3 children.
In 1970 her daughter Apryl was born on April 21st, in Merced, California.
In 1973 her daughter Ginger was born on December 11th, in Merced, California.
In 1975 her daughter Emmeline was born on October 4th, in Merced, California.
Geri has 9 grandchildren, Samantha Brown, Victoria Harris, Stephen Moore, Nicholas Lawrence, Tiffany Hilk, Jacob Lawrence, Seth Livingston, Jason Kangris, & Jeremy Kangris, and 4 great grand children, Hailey & Ellie Harris and Makenzey & Payton Brown. Geri loved her daughters unconditionally, always looking to spend time with them.
Geri went to school at Merced College and earned her nursing license and became one of the most coveted registered nurses in California. She was a registered nurse for more than 25 years. Her specialty was taking care of the premature babies in the NICU and it brought her so much joy. She worked at many places but her favorite was when she worked in the NICU at the Navy Hospital, also known as Oak Knoll Naval Hospital, located in Oakland, California. She loved working with the babies, often referring to them as "My babies". She was often given star recognition from her employers for being an excellent nurse. 

 Geri had a wild soul and was an adventurer. She was nothing less than a true survivor. In all her years no matter what she did or what she went through, she found a way to thrive. She did not carry hate in her heart & she was the most confident woman in the world- She swore after God-made her he said, "Ta-da!" Geri was always light hearted. Even in the tough times she found a way to be cheerful. She had a true passion for caring for animals. She loved animals so much, always looking to take care of them and protect them. Even as a child she could almost always be found outside working with the animals. She always had chihuahuas as pets & occasionally a bird or cat. She loved crafting and rock collecting and was an avid unicorn and fairy collector.
In 2005 Geri relocated to Las Vegas, Nv to be near her family. She remained in Las Vegas for 12 years before moving 73 miles down the road to Pahrump, Nv. 

Geri is preceded in death by her parents Robert & Dorothy Glardon of Atwater, Calif. and 3 brothers. She is Survive by one brother, Tom Glardon of Clark County, Nevada, 4 sisters: Mary Glardon of Sonoma County, Ca, Eileen Kane, Kathleen Glardon, and Debri Bueltel of Clark County Nv, and the aorementioned 3 children, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Things that took up Geri's time during her final days:
▪︎ Making crafts
▪︎ Restoring old furniture
▪︎ Playing with her Chihuahua, Zeus.
▪︎ She had recently reconnected with family on the other side of the country and was planning and greatly looking forward to a family reunion. Planning this reunion was one of her biggest priorities at the time of her passing.
▪︎ She always declared a strong desire operate an aviary at her home, with hundreds of different birds & was making plans to bring that dream to fruition.
▪︎ Lastly, she was in the planning stages of opening a new animal rescue with one of her daughters, focusing primarily on dogs & horses. Her daughter will carry her dream forward, in her honor.
Geri loved life and took pleasure in the little things and was always seeking to have fun. She lived in joy and didn't worry about what others thought of her in the least & she truly could have a good time in any situation. To know her was to love her. She is terribly missed everyday.
At Geri's request, she is to be cremated and her ashes will be spread at sea in Monterey, California. A celebration of life will be held pending the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic. The family will announce it accordingly.
