Geraldine's obituary
Born on August 21, 1933, in Smithfield, NC she was the daughter of Lawrence Williams and Eliza Vinson. Geraldine graduated from Smithfield-Selma High School and went on to build a life rooted in family and quiet strength.
Geraldine is lovingly remembered by her children: Mavis Graham (Sylvester) of Durham, NC; Kenneth Ira Coble of Los Angeles, CA; Michael Coble of Dallas, TX; Gerry Coble Gilbert (Ret. USN); Karen Ann Coble of Las Vegas, NV and one Brother Willie Williams. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Joseph Coble; her parents; and her siblings Lawrence Williams Jr., Willie Williams, Joyce Watkins, and Raymond Carmichael.
Known for her wit, gentle demeanor, and shy nature, Geraldine brought warmth and quiet joy to those around her.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Rock Ridge Avenue, Monticello, NY 12701 at 11:00 a.m.
There will be no visitation.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and staff at the Care Center at Sunset Lake for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, prayers are appreciated as a tribute to Geraldine’s memory. May her life be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew her.
