Geraldine's obituary

Geraldine “Gerry” E. Sayles Barrett, 99, of Cicero passed away April 14th, 2020 surrounded by her loving daughters. Gerry was born November 9th, 1920 in Howlett Hill and moved to Cicero at the age of 2. She graduated from North Syracuse High School in 1938. Her parents owned H.H. Sayles Dry Goods where she worked from a young age.

Gerry was a devout Protestant and liked to read, bake, sing and play the piano. She enjoyed nature walks, shopping, traveling and crossword puzzles. She loved all animals, especially birds. Gerry was happiest when surrounded by her family.

Gerry was predeceased by her parents, Hiram and Gladys Baum Sayles; her husband of 62 years, George L. Barrett Jr.; sisters, Ione (Blake) Winter, Beatrice (William) Haller and Sister in law Rosamond (Thomas) Sprowls.

She is survived by son, George (Cecelia) Barrett III, daughters, Judith (Ken) Sieperman, Sandra (David) Annicharico; Grandchildren, George (Jackie) Barrett, Jim (Richelle) Barrett, Jon (Amanda) Barrett, Jessica (David) Cranfield, Paul (Emily) Annicharico, Kelly (Sean) Frazer; Great grandchildren, Chelsey (Nick) Barter, Dominique Cranfield, Carson Barrett, Abby Barrett, Makaila Barrett, Kaelyn Cranfield, Arianna Cranfield, Lia Cranfield, Collin Barrett, Ava Annicharico, Zara Annicharico; Great great grandchildren Beckett Barter and Evelyn Barrett.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cicero Volunteer Fire Dept. P.O. Box 1111 Cicero NY 13039.
