Gerald's obituary
Gerald Clement Turville, passed from this life to the next from complications of a stroke on the morning of November 30, 2022 in Mapleton, Utah. Gerald had many endearing nicknames, GC, Jerry, Grandpa, and Uncle Judd. He was born January 9, 1929 and was 93 years old. He is survived by his wife, Frances (Frankie) LaVae Nelson Turville, and his children, Troy Marie (Turville) & Richard Young, and John & Rebecca (Lerman) Turville, as well as his grandchildren, Ben & Cali (Browning) Young, Rachelle (Young) & Brandon Gonzales, Glen & Jamie (Klumker) Young, Nate & Ale (Castellanos) Young, Austin & Heather (Williams) Young, Christian Young and 20 great grandchildren. Judd was the oldest of four siblings and was preceded in death by his sister, Gaynell, his brothers, Tom and Jack, his son, Todd, and his grandson, Roman.
Judd, a WWII Veteran, served in the United States Navy in Pearl Harbor and Guam. He was a Conductor for the D&RGW, Western Pacific, and Union Pacific Railroads for 42 Years. Judd and Frankie were inseparable. They were fabulous big band dancers in the 50s and 60s, and golfed avidly in their senior years. Though Judd didn’t hold many high positions nor amassed great wealth, he was extraordinarily generous with all that he possessed and loved everyone with unconditional positive regard. He always saw the good in people and could make anyone feel comfortable in his presence. With his quick wit and joyful nature, Judd created smiles and laughter everywhere he went. His gratitude, sincerity, and friendliness made him a favorite co-worker, friend, and patient. His light and energy when entering a room were tangible, as was the loss when he left. He will be dearly missed.
Judd’s funeral will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Mapleton South Main Church, 1316 South Main Street, Mapleton Utah.
