Sometimes a memory from the past will pop up and mine of Jerry goes way back 81 years when we were 5 years old in kindergarten. I had been changed from the afternoon class to the morning class. When I arrived at school on a very wintry morning, I didn't see any classmates that I knew nor did I have my usual locker. As I was struggling to get out of the balloon snow pants of the time ( seen in the movie, The Christmas Story), I began to cry. Jerry immediately noticed my frustration and asked the teacher to help me. Even at the age of 5, Jerry showed concern and compassion which apparently followed him through life!! As was said by William Wordsworth--"The best portion of a good man's life is his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love."
My Sincere Condolences,
Janet Ellis

When Bonnie and I moved to Park Chesapeake in 2005 Jerry welcomed us warmly. He became a good friend and neighbor thereafter, and was a source of great comfort during my various medical issues and Bonnie's passing away five years ago. I will remember and miss him forever. Sincerely, Doug Crouch
