In lieu of flowers

Please consider a contribution to Gerry's Memorial.

Background

We're raising money to help Gerry's family during this difficult time. So many people are asking how they could help Terri after Gerry has passed. We wanted to tell you a little secret about Terri and Gerry most of you do not know. Terri and Gerry were inseparable. They did everything together. Worked together, played together, had their own personal rescue together. The few who have been here and have seen and understand. It is a beautiful little farm and all the animals are fat and happy. Not too many individuals could do what they do or have what they have and do it as well as they did, sincerely. This took up A LOT of their personal time and money. It truly is a love and a passion. Brenden and I would always joke we were going to get T- shirts made that said Terri and Gerry's Rescue "There is always room for one more!"
I would say their rescue started with dogs and has kind of spilled over. They groom dogs for a living and Gerry was an essential worker/ Manager at Save a Lot till he retired a couple years ago and helped Terri grow her grooming business. They do a lot of dogs people wouldn't get within 20 feet of.
Some of the dogs they have rescued are... people who died of cancer and their family would not keep the dogs, a couple of bite dogs they have forgiven and are safe and happy here and have gotten better. They have kept 2 dogs for a year a guy promised to come back for. Terri always wanted a frenchies she bought 2 older breeding females and got them both spayed and made them pets. They have street dogs, last call shelter dogs, dogs families have thrown away, and the list goes on and on. They have rescue pigs, goats, they have raised a few orphaned cows, 3 mini horses, parrots, fish, a turtle, cats, chickens and Baron, a 26 year old draft horse. Nero a bite dog, he lived for Gerry... that was his best friend who he will never see again. We only grew to trust Nero because of the kindness Gerry showed him and made him better. Terri and Gerry have the biggest hearts and could befriend the craziest dogs and get dogs to get along that no one could. Terri is now having to care for these animals alone. Terri's income is cut in half and her life/business partner is not here. Something we all know is possible but never ever foreseen. Terri is just trying to keep these animals safe and fed for the next few months while she can get caught up and refigure the business. Terri was also off of work for a month from being so sick with covid. It has been a hard road and it is not just over yet. So in lieu of food, flowers, gifts...any donations to Gerry's memorial fund would be greatly appreciated! They also buy all their food at Wagon Wheel. Their bill ran 800+ a month. Terri is working on trying to rehome some animals, it is a process. A lot of the dogs are not able to be rehomed and many are into their golden years.
We are incredibly and sincerely grateful for everyone's love and support.
