Gerald (Jerry) Leroy Peer passed away in his home on Sunday, December 30, 2018.
Jerry was Born in California on July 20, 1942 and raised in Estancia, New Mexico.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Peer, his brother, Robert Akin, and his sister-in-law, Yvonne Akin. He is survived by his mother, Mary Akin; wife, Barbara Peer; sister, Marilyn Akin; brother, David Akin; his children, DeAnn Kauffman, Bobbi Sue Pino, Leroy Peer, and Jennie Barton; step-children, Brad Yerxa, Bart Yerxa, Stephen Yerxa and Pamela Benton; his beloved fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman with a great respect and love of the outdoors. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and camping. Jerry was skilled in creating sculptures in clay and wood carving. He was a great teacher and mentor who loved sharing his stories and skills with his children and grandchildren.
