Gerald's obituary
Gerald “Jerry” Mendias Jr., age 50, a longtime resident of Corona, CA, passed away on December 22, 2025, due to complications from asthma. Gerald was born on April 6, 1975, in Oxnard, California, to Wendy Adamson and Gerald Mendias Sr. He was raised in the city of Hawthorne, and he moved to the city of Lomita in his teenage years, a city he took great pride in living in. He lived there into his 20s, met his wife Erika and started his family there. He continued to live there until 2009 when they purchased a beautiful home in Corona.
Gerald was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud family man. He married the love of his life, Erika Mendias, on February 17, 2001, and together they built a life centered on love, commitment, and family. Gerald’s greatest joys were his children, and he took immense pride in being a father to his daughters, Alyssa and Mariah, and his sons, Marc and Matthew. Whether cheering from the sidelines, offering guidance, or simply spending time together, his love for his kids was evident in everything he did.
Gerald was also an avid sports fan who never missed an opportunity to support his favorite teams. He was a loyal fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Lakers, and many fond memories were made watching games, celebrating victories, and sharing that passion with his family.
Gerald is survived by his beloved wife, Erika; his children, Alyssa, Mariah, Marc, and Matthew; his mother, Wendy Adamson; and his brother, Rikki Mendias. He also had his first grandchild on the way. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on January 24, 2026, at Crossroads Christian Church in Corona, CA. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park in Riverside, CA.
