Jerry passed away at home on Tuesday December 9th. Without a doubt he died of a broken heart after losing his wife, Judy rather suddenly in 2024. She was his rock and he was lost without her. Judy dedicated her love and her life to their marriage and to making a happy home.
Judy and Jerry unfortunately weren't able to have children due to a brain tumor in Judy's younger years. They desperately longed to have a family to share there home and endless love and support with so they pursued fostering children in need of safety, guidance, unconditional love and support. They opened there home to many foster children in need over the years. A few of these foster children remained family throughout the years and celebrated events, holidays and grandchildren with them over the years. Judy and Jerry had succeeded in making a family afterall! Although not biologically they were mom and dad to my brother Frank, LaDonna and I. Eventually they became Grandma & Grandpa to our children and Great Grandma & Grandpa to our grandchildren!
Over the years they have given their time and love to many others through mentoring, volunteering at church and charities as well as to many other community events and needs. Jerry also aided those in medical emergencies and saved lives as a volunteer EMT and Town Constable for the Town of Texas Fire Department for many years.
After Judy's passing Jerry was trying his best to take over managing life and finances the best he could, but it was new territory for him and the past few years hadn't been kind to them as they encountered quite a few medical tragedies. Jerry was an only child and didn't have funeral arrangements or financial resources for his final expenses. LaDonna, Frank and I are doing the best that we can to manage the final expenses and personal affairs but are struggling to do so.
It's been difficult to manage Jerry's final affairs and prepare and arrange services due not only to his sudden passing and finances but also due to legalities, as we are foster children and not blood we have been working with Jerry's cousin's to get overcome some hurdles.
We plan to reunite Jerry with Judy in body in Spring 2026. Prior to interment there will be a celebration of life to honor and share the wonderful experiences and stories so many have experienced with Jerry. Please reach out to LaDonna or myself via phone, messagenger or text with your contact information so we can be sure we get the details of the celebration of life to all that plan to attend.
If anybody would like to assist with a small donation it would be greatly appreciated as we struggling to meet the costs. Prayers are also greatly appreciated.
