Gerald Hereford, born on July 21, 1969, passed from this life on September 4, 2025. Gerald was a pillar of strength, a beacon of kindness, and a symbol of steadfast commitment. He was the epitome of honor, dependability, and devotion, leaving an indelible imprint on the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Penny Hereford, and his devoted son Dion Hereford. His family was the center of his world and he was the rock upon which they leaned. His legacy includes the love of his life, his firstborn and only daughter, Shiekka Hereford.
Gerald served his community with an unwavering dedication and love. Over his lifetime, he devoted 25 years to military service, 15 years as a police officer, and 5 years as a firefighter. His courage and fearlessness were inspiring; his commitment to duty was unparalleled. He was also a committed Volunteer at the 100 Black Men of Atlanta service organization, tirelessly working towards creating a better community for all.
Gerald was a longstanding attendee of the Light of the World Christian Church. His faith was the compass that guided him through life's journey. He believed in living life to the fullest and fearlessly sharing kindness, a lesson he imparted to all around him.
His absence leaves a void that words cannot express. His family, friends, and community mourn his loss, but take comfort in the memories of the love and joy he shared. Gerald leaves behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and love. His lessons and values will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
