Gerald's obituary
Gerald “Gerry” Dusch, a lifelong resident of 206 Oxford Road, Oxford, Connecticut, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025, after a long struggle with several serious medical conditions, including diabetes and cardiac arrhythmias. He had recently been discharged from Norwalk Hospital to a rehabilitation center, and passed peacefully while receiving dialysis. Gerry had celebrated his 71st birthday just a few weeks earlier, on August 4th.
Gerry dedicated more than 32 years of his career to the Home Depot in Orange, Connecticut, where he worked in the Tool Rental and Repair Department. There, he found joy and pride in doing what he loved most — working with his hands and fixing things. That same passion extended into his home life, where he became an avid collector and restorer of antique clocks. Every room of his home bore witness to his craft; no wall was left bare, and the steady chorus of chiming clocks filled the house with warmth and character.
Those who knew Gerry will remember him as a kind, gentle, and generous soul — a man slow to anger, quick to forgive, and always ready with a helping hand. He possessed a sharp and often mischievous sense of humor, one that was always good-natured and never at another’s expense. His laughter and kindness left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to know him.
While funeral services were private, friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Gerry’s Life on Sunday, November 16th at 1:00 p.m. at his longtime home, 206 Oxford Road (Route 67), Oxford, Connecticut. Due to limited parking, guests are kindly encouraged to carpool whenever possible.
