Please accept my heartfelt condolences on your loss of Mr. Jerry. Death always brings such heartache. It can cause such despair and ones faith to wither. I pray that you're able to find comfort with 2 Corinthians 1 : 3 & 4 where it assures us that we have a God of tender mercies and that provides comfort in our time of need. I hope that you and your loved ones are able to come together and bring each other comfort with love and memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I first met Jerry when I went to ADI to meet and greet as they were considering making me a job offer. I spent a few hours there and after making nice with the big wigs I had an opportunity to meet some of the staff. Jerry was working in (surprise) the accounting department. He and I hit it off immediately. I was hired after retiring from the USMC in November 1979.

Jerry and I became fast friends and over the years ended up working in the same company on many occasions. The last time we worked together was at ATF, I was the PM and Jerry was in charge of supporting the contract. He did a wonderful job of keeping me out of financial trouble. At the time we had a staff of 278 and he was on top of everything!

In all those years, we never exchanged any cross words and he was a true friend. He was never too busy to lend a helping hand, no matter how big or small the request. We spent a lot of time at the family business telling war stories with Joe (his dad) and going out for a beer or three.

After I moved to WV, he would come over to the house (he was living in Hagerstown at the time) or we would meet at the AMVETS club in Falling Waters. After he moved south, he would still come up on Wednesdays for shuffleboard and general BS. He would arrange his Dr. visits to coincide with shuffleboard and he would spend the night with me and my family.

We had many warm and happy memories listening to his tales of hiking and camping. I cannot tell you how much I miss him now and will in the future! We all have one great friend, and he was mine!

I can only imagine the loss to his family and I want to express my gratitude for his friendship and extend my condolences to them.
