George's obituary

Polk City, FL………George Michael Thurman, age 66 of Polk City, Florida died Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Orlando VA Medical Center.     

Born February 26, 1956, he was a son of the late Johnson Bell Thurman and Isabell Champagne Thurman.  He was predeceased one brother, Johnson Thurman; and his step-mother, Shirley Thurman. 

George (Georgie) was of the Catholic Faith and a jack of all trades.  He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army and was in charge of a medical platoon while stationed in Germany.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles. His bike Maybelline was his baby. He loved playing his harmonicas and playing jokes on those around him. He enjoyed all the animals on the farm.

He is survived by his spouse Debra Jenkins, of Polk City.  Brother, James “Tony” Thurman (Mary Thurman) two step children  Kristina Becker Linton (Kristopher Linton) of Winter Haven and Timothy Becker, of Polk City.   Five Grandchildren Marissa  Allen, Mikayla Allen,  Cody Becker, Lacie Becker, and Kenneth Becker.  Two great grandchildren   Brantley & Emberly with Grayln on the way.  Three nephews, Jonathan, Jesse and James Thurman.

His final resting place will be the family cemetery in Virginia.
