George's obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of George "Bud" Schrader, Jr. Born on September 4, 1953, George passed away on June 16, 2025, leaving a legacy of love and enduring memories.
George is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn Schrader, his devoted children, Katherine Hetlet (Chad) and George Schrader (Tina), his cherished grandchildren Amber Dunnuck (Zack), Trevor Schrader (Kirsten) and Maximus Hetlet, his sisters Joann Pumala and Debra Peters (Jim), and his brothers Tom Schrader, (Lynda) and Tim Schrader. He was predeceased by his adored parents, George and Ruth Schrader.
George was known for his love of the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. He also absolutely loved watching his grandchildren play sports, he was their biggest fan. He was a lifelong fan of Notre Dame Football, his passion and loyalty never wavering. George was also deeply committed to serving as a proud member of the Loyal Order of Moose, a fraternal service organization dedicated to providing comfort and support to children and seniors in need. George earned his Pilgrim Degree, which is the highest level of degree within the Moose organization. His selflessness and dedication to uplift others was a testament to his character.
On August 8, 2025, a Celebration of Life for George will take place at 1:00 PM at the Parkview Community Church, 764 St Charles Rd, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137, with a lunch to follow. We invite all who knew and loved him to join us in honoring his memory, sharing stories, and supporting each other during this time of loss.
George leaves behind a life full of love and joy, camaraderie, and service. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
