George's obituary
George Franklin McCorkle (aka Mack) departed on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from several medical conditions; he was surrounded by loved ones during his transition!
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: wife Emma McCorkle, children; Gerald McCorkle, George McCorkle, Lisa Stevens, Tina Bearden, and Shannon Cornwall – 14 grand children and 17 great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Born in Newton, NC to Beulah and Edward McCorkle….
Mack was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be truly missed and remembered by many lives he touched. Mack loved bowling and competing, averaging over 200. He loved sports and trivia games. He was a competitor and could never loose.
Mack served in the US Army (Korean War) in his younger years and obtained 3 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Metal, Army Occupational Medal (Japan), and United States Service Metal.
Rest in Peace Dad you will truly be missed!!
