George's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of George Marion, who left us on April 30, 2025. Born on February 24, 1936, George was a man of great character and infectious spirit, cherished by all who knew him. He is survived by his son, George Lewis Marion II, and was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ada Marion, and his dear daughter, Julie Wilinski.
George was a man of numerous passions. From his favorite foods of halupki, pork & sauerkraut, sausage & potatoes and spaghetti, to his love of Diet Dr. Pepper, his tastes were a reflection of his robust character. George reveled in Polka music, a nod to his traditional personality. A fan of Breaking Bad, he admired storytelling that kept him on the edge of his seat. Western movies were his cinema of choice, reflecting his admiration for resilience and courage. A supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, he was always ready to cheer on his teams. Fishing, gardening, cooking, meeting with his discussion group, and spending quality time with family were activities that George enjoyed wholeheartedly. His favorite vacation spot was Winter Park, Colorado, a place where he found peace and rejuvenation. Locally, Pulidos Mexican Food was his preferred haunt, a testament to his adventurous palate.
George was best described as supportive, caring, generous, and family-focused. His legacy of generosity, supporting his grandchildren's interests, and sharing his life stories will forever echo in our hearts. He achieved many noteworthy accomplishments in his fruitful life, including being a dedicated Math teacher, serving as a United States Air Force Veteran and retiring from American Airlines as a weight and balance engineer.
A viewing for George will be held on May 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Forest Ridge Funeral Home Memorial Park Chapel. This will be followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the same location. His final resting place will be at the Little Elm Cemetery, where a burial service will be held at 2:00 PM. We invite those who knew and loved George to join us in remembering his remarkable life.
