Kenny's obituary

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of George Kenneth Lindsey. Known affectionately by many as simply 'Kenny', he was finally able to breath easy as he went to be with the Lord on the 3rd of May, 2024. Born on the 2nd of June, 1951, Kenny is remembered as a man of character, whose caring and serving nature touched the lives of many.

He graduated from Livingston High School in 1968 and went on to Nashville Diesel College specializing in Diesel and Truck Service Technology and Heavy Equipment Service Maintenance. He established a remarkable career as a diesel mechanic; a role in which he dutifully served for more than 50 years. He inspired his son James to follow him in like work, and all his children to live lives of dedication, hard work, and perseverance.

Kenny is survived by his children who brought immense joy to his life; sons, James and John Lindsey (Sherri); daughter, Ana Lindsey; step-daughters, Elizabeth Kettle (Donnie) and Sabrina Gwin, and step-son, Christopher Patti (Shana); brother, Ray Lindsey (Marty); Grandsons; Kyle Walker, Elisha and Bradley Lindsey; Granddaughters, Hannah and Abigail Lindsey.

Kenny was predeceased by his wife, Janice Lindsey, and was also predeceased by his brothers; Mark and David Lindsey, and his parents Annie Elizabeth Lindsey and George Wesley Lindsey, Jr. These were undoubtedly waiting to welcome him.

We invite those who loved and knew Kenny to join us in honoring his life. A time of Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Mt Pisgah Baptist Church in the Worship Center (address below). This will be immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM at the same location.

The Church at Mt. Pisgah will provide a meal for family and friends following the service in the fellowship hall.

Kenny's departure leaves a void in our lives that can never be filled. But his memory will forever be a beacon of perseverance and strength.
