George's obituary
George passed peacefully on Monday July 26 2021, at the age of 80, with his wife, Linda, by his side.
He was born September 1, 1940, in Baltimore, MD, where he graduated from Calvert Hall in 1958 and Johns Hopkins University in 1962. He spent the bulk of his work career at IBM. IBM provided George with the opportunity to travel. This included two tours in Tokyo, the first in the mid-1970s and the second in the mid-1980s and a tour in Hong Kong, thereafter. George and his wife, Linda, made the most of these opportunities to see all parts of the world with their children, Michael and Patrick. After leaving IBM and enjoying some years off, he rejoined the work force, assisting a close friend as vice president of InfoEdge.
In retirement, George was a volunteer supernumerary with Sarasota Opera. He was active in his Whitemarsh community as the irrigation representative, and he volunteered as a Guardian ad Litem.
He is remembered fondly by family and friends as a warm, kind-hearted, funny, intelligent, caring man and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was always a gentleman, in every sense of the word, who is greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Reed Hoza; son, Patrick Hoza, his wife, Olya and his grandchildren, Jacob and Ella. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Andrew Hoza, his mother Amelia Hoza, and his father George Hoza.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
