The George A. Frazier Memorial Fund is a memorial fund to honor George Frazier and the legacy that he left. These funds will help with family support, funeral expenses, and the George Frazier Baseball Scholarship. 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Frazier, former Major League Baseball player and beloved color analyst for the Colorado Rockies, who passed away on June 19, 2023, at the age of 68. George was born on October 13, 1954, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to the late Lyndall and Geraldine Frazier.

George was a talented pitcher who played for several teams during his 10-year career in the Major Leagues. He began his career with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1978 and went on to play for the New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs, and Minnesota Twins. George was known for his powerful fastball and ability to pitch in high-pressure situations.

After retiring from playing, George became a color analyst for the Colorado Rockies in 1998. He quickly became a fan favorite for his insightful commentary, his infectious enthusiasm, and his love for the game of baseball. George was known for his ability to break down complex plays and strategies in a way that was easy for fans to understand.

George was a fixture in the Colorado Rockies community for over two decades. He was beloved by fans, players, and colleagues alike for his kindness, his generosity, and his unwavering dedication to the team.

George remained involved in the sport as a coach and mentor to young players. He was passionate about helping young athletes develop their skills and achieve their dreams.

He married the love of his life, Kay Lynn Wood on April 20th, 1988. George was so proud of his four children and their incredible accomplishments. George loved to cheer on his grandsons in whatever sport they were playing and loved to brag about his granddaughters. You could catch him at Cascia Hall under the Friday night lights, on road trips to NW Arkansas to the ball field or dance recitals, or riding his John Deere tractor with Crew and Ford on his lap.

George is survived by his wife, Kay; his sons, Matt Frazier (Nicole), Brian Frazier (Jenny), Parker Frazier (Bailee), and daughter Georgia Frazier Canady (Todd); his grandchildren, Bryce, Easton, Cooper, Ella, Harper, Crew, Ford, and Ridge, and his siblings, Lynda Bain and her children, Kara Broeker and Kyle Witherspoon and Judith (Auburn) Tindall and son Jarrett. And many great nieces and nephews. George is reunited with his parents, Lyndall and Geraldine Frazier, his brother Keith Frazier and Mother in Law, Betty Wood. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and fans.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 29th, 2023, at the OneOK Field in Tulsa at 7:00 PM.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM - 7:30 PM at SouthLawn Chapel Moore Funeral Home on June 28th. The family will be there from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM.

George will be remembered as a talented athlete, a dedicated coach, a beloved member of the baseball community, and, most importantly, an incredible husband and father. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the memories of his many fans.
