With profound sorrow, we share the news of the untimely departure of George F. Carter III, who left us on January 1, 2024.
George was born in San Diego, CA. on December 10, 1955. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, son, father-in-law and loyal friend. He will always be remembered for his kindness and quick-witted humor.
He is survived by his daughter, Coleen Gomez, who was his pride and joy, his two grandchildren, his son-in-law, and his dear sister, Linda White, along with several nieces and nephews
George was predeceased by his father, George Carter, and his mother Shirley Stribling, whom he admired and held dear in his heart.
George is also predeceased by his cherished brother, Steve Barclay, and his sister, Nancy Lundsted. Their memories held a special place in his heart, and he carried their love with him throughout his life. The loss of his brother-in-law, Larry White, was also deeply felt by George and the family.
In addition to his roles at home, George had a fulfilling career serving his country and community. George Carter III proudly served as a dedicated member of the Army and Army Reserves. He worked for the US Postal Service and later served as a TSA officer, ensuring the safety and well-being of his fellow citizens. After a dedicated career, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.
We invite those who knew and loved George to join us in commemorating his life at a memorial service to be held on February 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Miramar National Cemetery.
George Carter III will be greatly missed. The lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he gave will forever be remembered and cherished. May he rest in peace as he rejoins his loved ones in the heavens above
